New happenings at the Pahoa Museum

Could this be the worlds tallest mountain? Measured from of the ocean floor where it starts to tip of its peak Mauna Kea on the Big Island in Hawaii, dwarfs Mt. Everest.


The eclectic Pahoa Village, is on the South East corner of Big Island. It is close to the landing place of the first wave of Polynesian settlers who came from the south seas. Pahoa is a not far from Mt Kilauea, the most active volcano in the world.

Recently two local philanthropists pooled their resources with hundreds of hours of volunteer help and the result was birth of the new Pahoa Community Museum. A place to visit, which has exhibits of natural history and Hawaiiana.
